TestLink alternative

A hosted alternative to TestLink

TestLinkPro is not TestLink. It’s an independent, separately built product, not affiliated with the TestLink open-source project. If you like TestLink’s structure but not running a PHP server, read on.

TestLink is good at what it does

TestLink is free (GPL-2.0), self-hosted and has been used by QA teams for many years. It covers test specifications, test plans, builds, requirements and reports.

If you need zero licence cost, full control of the server, or an air-gapped install, TestLink (or Kiwi TCMS) is a sensible choice, and TestLinkPro, which is cloud only, isn’t.

Why teams look for an alternative

  • Someone has to install, patch, back up and upgrade the server.
  • The interface shows its age. Newer tools are faster for day-to-day runs.
  • Connecting CI results and modern trackers takes custom work.
